This is a new program for the Cincinnati Section and is being coordinated through the ACS National Office. The American Chemical Society believes that locally-based career services are essential to the Society’s objective to “… provide programs and activities to facilitate the career development of chemical professionals.”
Locally based career services are becoming much more essential to ACS members who are actively seeking employment as well as to employers looking for local talent. This Local Section Career Program is a national program designed to equip local sections with materials and other information needed to offer employment assistance to members in their geographic regions.
The goals of this new program are:
- Provide members with career and employment information at the local level.
- Enhance professional networking opportunities with other chemical professionals and employers.
- Provide avenues for all groups to communicate.
- Equip local section volunteers with training and support materials to facilitate this process.
