Dr. Fran Rosevear passed away on July 5, 2010. Dr. Fran Rosevear was one of the gentlemen who laid the foundations of our understanding of soap and surfactant phases. Even though he retired from P&G in 1976, his photomicrographs on using polarized light microscopy to identify surfactant phases are still being used by many at the company today. He was one of the pioneers and it is sad news to hear of his passing.

Rosemary Centner passed away on July 2, 2010. Rosemary was very active in the ACS and the first woman to achieve executive status at P&G where she spent her whole 45 year career. Her services as an information specialist was invaluable to many scientists at P&G. Details are listed in today’s published obituary:
